The shoulder service is led by Kate Abbott who has over fifteen years' experience in the assessment, treatment and management of shoulder conditions.
Having previously worked on the Upper Limb Unit at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London, she developed a special interest in shoulder instability and works with patients who have problems with shoulder dislocation.
Kate regularly works with local shoulder consultants, providing physiotherapy before and after surgery and performs steroid injections where necessary.
David Meech also has a special interest in the non-surgical management of shoulder pain, including shoulder diagnosis and rehabilitation. David currently holds an NHS post as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, which requires him to retain a qualification to request shoulder investigations and refer patients directly to shoulder consultants
